Mr. Pitroda, I was really restless while listening to this interview. I am sorry to say, but you are playing the same blame game as the BJP. You are pointing fingers to them that they are playing a lousy game. Now the country knows that the BJP is playing a lousy game. Is it really necessary to repeat these things at this crucial point?
The Congress Party introduced technology to India. But the BJP is using it more effectively. You don’t have satisfying answers for this question of proper utilization of the technology or how to tackle the BJP in this area. You repeatedly say how democracy should function and how it is now corrupted. We all know this. The Congress Party, as the biggest opposition in the country should get active at least now. It needs to create a passion among the people. But the Congress Party seems unaware of it.
Sir, you talked about values. You said that democracy is in the hands of people who don’t respect values. Without values democracy cannot survive. Yes, you are right. Without values democracy cannot survive. But is it the time to talk about values? Those underestimating democracy, know that they are not respecting the values. For them the values related to democracy are worthless. Their value system is related negatively to religion. So it doesn’t make any sense to talk about the values of those who don’t have any respect for them. You said people should now protest. They should now come on the roads. But people in this country are divided in two drastically contrasting parts. There is no midpoint. There is only right and left and others. More than half of the population is at the bottom and is neither at any side. These people are struggling to live their day to day life. They don’t have time and even the sense to think about democracy and to protest.
Besides, if you want to see people on the roads, you need to create at least some passion in their minds which the BJP is doing effectively. The BJP has created a passionate mob for itself. Sir, you were asked in this interview about your strategies to tackle the BJP. You answered in the future tense what you will do once you get into power. But to get into power the congress party needs to ‘win’ the elections.
With the effective and malicious use of technology by the BJP how the congress party or the opposition is going to win the elections? What is the congress party doing to make the elections fair and transparent? The answer is - NOTHING! Giving speeches and doing interviews, and making request applications to the Election Commission won’t help.
Sir, this is not the time to teach democracy to Indian people or to blame the BJP or to talk about the future. This is a serious issue. The elections being carried out with the EVM, the BJP definitely wins and then India will become the real hell. They don’t want democracy. As they have brought ‘Sengol’ into the new Sansad building, they will also install ‘Manusmriti’ there, and we will all be required to follow the suppressing laws they would be imposing on us.
Sir, at this crucial time, the first concern of the congress party should be the ELECTIONS WITH BALLOT PAPER and BALLOT BOX.’ Nothing else is really important at this point. People will definitely get the congress party into power. But with the EVM the BJP will ‘rule’ again.
